Check AvailabilityBelize speaks English, takes US dollars, sits two to five hours' flight from most of the United States and runs on Central Time. The paperwork is a passport.
Ambergris Caye adds the reef, the flats and an island that moves by golf cart. Secret Beach adds the part that matters most with small children: water you can stand in fifty metres from shore, with no surf and no seaweed. Our guide to Belize with kids covers flights, health, safety and what to pack; this page is about the house.

Most days are the water out front. When you go out, the boat collects you at the dock: Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley are the snorkel trip children remember (rays, turtles, nurse sharks in a metre of water), the Blue Hole flight is an hour that works for any age, and the Maya ruins are a long but easy day for older kids. Beachcombing, the resident iguanas and the spoonbills in the lagoon next door cost nothing. Our four- and eight-day itineraries put it in order.

Blackout drapes in every suite, air conditioning and ceiling fans, quadruple-filtered UV-treated drinking water from every tap, and two people on site every day who know the island.

Every detail was thoughtfully curated … truly 5-star hospitality from start to finish. The water right outside the villa was crystal clear, calm, and actually swimmable.
No traffic, no sargassum, no stress — just beautiful beach and crystal clear sea as far as the eye can see. I really can’t say enough about the excellent food and location. Heavenly!
Each bed has an incredible view of the water … the location on Secret Beach left us breathless. Unbelievable service — I cannot recommend this stunning house enough.
